It has been said, that perhaps the recent advances in the field of I.T. after the coming of the internet, is to compress mans need for time in this world in order to hasten the coming of Moshiach.
Indeed we learn “zu le-umas zu” (this in comparison to that), that for every thing in Kedushah (Holiness) there is diametrically opposite “tumah” (Impurity) that corresponds to it. On one hand the Great Rabbi’s of our generation have warned us of the potential dangers of the internet, so as not to expose ourselves or our families to the potentially harmful impurity lingering at ones fingertips at the keyboard. On the other hand if we connect on line, not for means of entertainment, but rather only when out of necessity in a strictly controlled environment according to our Rabbis guidelines, the internet can thus pose as a powerful vehicle to both reinforce and spread Kedushah through out the entire world!!!
It is with the before mentioned understanding that I agreed to the launching of this website.
In the Torah we are taught about the “arey miklat” (cities of refuge), where one who killed unintentionally ran to, in order to seek refuge from the deceased’s family. We are taught that throughout the land there were signs posted that had the word “miklat” (refuge) written on them, and pointed to the direction of the nearest city of refuge.
So too, we hope with the help of HaShem, that Ohr Pnimi, the Kabbalah Institute of American, will serve as a source of direction for those who have attempted the study of Kabbalah, but due to their yearning for perhaps a more authentic, and/or deeper understanding, continue to run to seek where to find the whole truth. We would like to view our Kabbalah Study Institute of America as a type of refuge, or destination point for those running and seeking. We provide an oasis for the true study of Kabbalah locally in the “spiritual wasteland” of America. It is here that the opportunity waits for every Jew who seriously strives to reach “Devaikus BeHaShem” (ultimate closeness to HaShem ) by pursuing both the study and practice of the teachings of our Masters, Rabbi Yehudah Lieb Ashlag ZT”L the “Baal HaSulam”, and his eldest son and successor the Rebbe, Rabbi Baruch Shalom Ashlag.
By continuing to study Kabbalah precisely at it was taught by the Baal HaSulam and the Rebbe, and attempting to implement these teachings into our observance of Torah & Mitzvos, and our everyday lives, may we merit to the coming of the Moshiach speedily in our days.
